WITH INTRODUCTION OF NEW dB-4051 SERIES TWT AMPLIFIERS, dB CONTROL IS ONLY MANUFACTURER COVERING ENTIRE 2 GHz – 40 GHz SPECTRUM

dB Control’s K/Ka-Band dB-4051 (18-40 GHz, 50/60W CW) and dB-4051A (17.5-40 GHz, 40/50W CW/Pulse) TWTAs
Designed for ECM, EW Simulation, Test, Antenna Pattern/Radar Cross Section Measurement

Fremont, Calif. – July 15, 2024 – dB Control, a supplier of mission-critical (often sole-source) products worldwide to military organizations, major defense contractors, and commercial manufacturers, is introducing a new series of TWT rackmount amplifiers. The dB-4051 K/Ka-Band TWTA operates in the 18 to 40 GHz frequency range and provides 50/60 Watts minimum continuous wave (CW) output power. The dB-4051A K/Ka-Band TWTA operates in the 17.5 to 40 GHz frequency range and provides 40/50 Watts CW/Pulsed minimum output power. Both rack mount TWTAs are designed to be used for ECM transmitters, electronic warfare (EW) simulation, EMC tests, RFI susceptibility/RF components testing, and antenna pattern/radar cross section measurements.

“To meet size, weight and power requirements, customers want high-power amplifiers that support as much of the electromagnetic spectrum as possible in a single device. That’s why last year we introduced the 2 to 18 GHz dB-8015 Microwave Power Module. Design engineers also prefer the convenience of working with a single manufacturer that can provide high-power amplifiers covering the full 2 to 40 GHz spectrum. With the introduction of our new dB-4051 and dB-4051A TWT amplifiers, dB Control is the only company with that capability,” said dB Control Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mike Lee.

In both the dB-4051 and dB-4051A, a wide-band, periodic permanent magnet (PPM)-focused, conduction-cooled TWT is used for power amplification of CW, AM, FM or pulse-modulated signals. The power supply topology uses proprietary low-noise, high-efficiency designs to operate the RF signal path. An embedded microcontroller provides the interface, control and protection functions, as well as extensive fault diagnostics and status indication for the TWT amplifier. Standard communication interface is Ethernet. The dB-4051 and dB-4051 TWTAs are packaged in a standard 19-inch rack-mount configuration with an integral, forced air cooling system which can also be made available in an outdoor mount configuration.

About dB Control

Established in 1990, dB Control supplies mission-critical (often sole-source) products worldwide to military organizations, major defense contractors, and commercial manufacturers. The company designs and manufactures reliable high- and low-voltage power supplies, high-power TWT Amplifiers (TWTAs), microwave power modules (MPMs), transmitters for radar, electronic countermeasures (ECM) and communication applications on airborne, maritime, and ground-based military platforms. After acquiring TTT-Cubed in 2019, Paciwave in 2021, and Charter Engineering in 2022, dB Control expanded its product line to offer coaxial EM and pin diode RF switches, specialized RF/microwave components, integrated microwave subsystems, and custom radio frequency (RF) receivers and sources. dB Control also provides specialized contract manufacturing and repair depot services from its 40,000-square-foot facility in Fremont, California. The company is AS 9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified. More information is available at www.dBControl.com or by calling 1-510-656-2325.
