dB Control Named One of Top 70 Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal
Fremont, Calif. — dB Control, an established manufacturer known for its reliable, high-power microwave amplifiers, radar transmitters and power supplies, has been selected as one of the “Top 70 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Silicon Valley” for 2009 by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. To be included in the ranking, a company must demonstrate a significant percentage increase in sales between 2006 and 2008. Hundreds of local companies compete for the top 70 slots. dB Control’s exact ranking will be announced next month at a gala awards ceremony at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif. The official ranked list will be published in early October.
dB Control was founded in 1990 to produce high-voltage power supplies and Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifiers that were more reliable and less expensive than existing products. The cofounders set up a modest research and design lab and invested in basic production equipment. After a few months, with only a prototype to show prospective customers, the new company received its first order from a major defense contractor.
“Being named one of the fastest-growing private companies is quite an honor. We’ve adhered to a conservative, planned growth model for almost two decades,” said dB Control CEO and Cofounder Joseph Hajduk. “Now we’re well positioned for faster growth to take advantage of global market opportunities.”
