dB CONTROL UNVEILS NEW BEST-IN-CLASS dB-9006 MAGNUM OPUS MICROWAVE FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER AND NEW dB-8048 GaN AMPLIFIER AT IMS, BOOTH 2112
Also on display: dB Control’s New dB-8015 Wideband GaN MPM, TWT Amplifiers, Millimeter Wave Microwave Power Modules, Specialized RF/Microwave Subsystems, Components, Pin Diode Switches and Charter Engineering’s (CEI) RF Coaxial Switches
Fremont, Calif. – June 12, 2024 – dB Control, a supplier of mission-critical (often sole-source) products worldwide to military organizations, major defense contractors, and commercial manufacturers, is unveiling two new products in Booth 2112 at the IEEE MTTS International Microwave Symposium, June 16-21, in Washington, D.C.
- The new dB-9006 Magnum Opus Microwave Synthesizer provides best-in- class phase noise performance (between 10 dB and 20 dB better than competing models), a wide frequency range (100 MHz to 27 GHz with 1 Hz resolution mode), -80 dBc non-harmonic spur performance and fast tuning (<50 mS), with a secondary output tuning at 1-2,000 MHz. This instrument-grade synthesized signal source supports three interfaces, including 4-wire SPI and two SCPI interfaces using either RS-232 or USB. Applications include communications intelligence (COMMINT), ECM, low-jitter ADC & DAC clocks, radars, satellite links, test and measurement and radio astronomy.
- The new dB-8048 GaN Solid State Power Amplifier operates in the 2.9 to 3.3 GHz frequency band, delivers 1.5 kW peak output power in pulsed operation with instantaneous pulse operation over the entire band, has a duty cycle up to 10%, a 0.5 mS pulse width and 50 ohm input/output impedance. A modular design and scalable architecture allow for phase combining to achieve up to 6 kW and 10 kW output power. Small and lightweight, with built-in fan cooling, it’s designed for high-performance MIL-STD applications such as radars, high-resolution SAR systems, and ground, naval and airborne platforms where high reliability and ruggedness are critical to system performance.
At IMS, dB Control will also exhibit its recently introduced dB-8015 very wideband GaN SSPA Microwave Power Module-(2-18 GHz, 200W CW) and a full line of reliable high- and low-voltage power supplies, high-power TWT Amplifiers (TWTAs) and microwave power modules (MPMs) for millimeter-wave applications.
In addition, Charter Engineering (CEI), a dB Control company, will exhibit a large selection of high-power MIL-standard switches with frequency ranges from DC to 40.0 GHz. Numerous configurations are available, including more than 60 series types and variations.
“These new products demonstrate our ability to surpass industry performance and reliability standards using innovative engineering and manufacturing processes,” said dB Control Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mike Lee. “dB Control is definitely on a roll, with $31.5 million in new contracts announced so far this fiscal year, and more contract announcements to follow next month.”
About dB Control
Established in 1990, dB Control supplies mission-critical (often sole-source) products worldwide to military organizations, major defense contractors, and commercial manufacturers. The company designs and manufactures reliable high- and low-voltage power supplies, high-power TWT Amplifiers (TWTAs), microwave power modules (MPMs), transmitters for radar, electronic countermeasures (ECM) and communication applications on airborne, maritime, and ground-based military platforms. After acquiring TTT-Cubed in 2019, Paciwave in 2021, and Charter Engineering in 2022, dB Control expanded its product line to offer coaxial EM and pin diode RF switches, specialized RF/microwave components, integrated microwave subsystems, and custom radio frequency (RF) receivers and sources. dB Control also provides specialized contract manufacturing and repair depot services from its 40,000-square-foot facility in Fremont, California. The company is AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified. More information is available at www.dBControl.com or by calling 1-510-656-2325.
